B-oriented MFI zeolite membranes for xylene isomer separation - Effect of xylene activity on separation performance

چکیده

MFI zeolite membranes, especially b-oriented ones, show superb vapor permeation/separation performance for xylene isomer separation at low pressures. In industrial applications these membranes should be operated high pressures in the mode or with liquid feed pervaporation mode. This paper reports influence of activity on and membranes. High quality were synthesized an organic template modified silica substrates. For permeation binary p/o-xylene feed, both permeance (for p-xylene o-xylene) p-/o-xylene factor increase, reaching maximum 515 150oC, then decreases increasing temperature due to combined effects dependence diffusivity adsorption. The xylenes decrease monotonically (or pressure). Lowest is observed when giving about 2. Compared randomly oriented template, better less negative effect factor. However, b- exhibit a similarly poor

Molecular sieving MFI-type zeolite membranes for pervaporation separation of xylene isomers.

Molecular sieving MFI-type zeolite membranes were prepared by a secondary growth method without using an organic template. Silicalite membranes with intercrystalline pores minimized or eliminated were obtained by this synthesis method which avoids the template removal step. The silicalite membrane exhibits molecular sieving characteristics with pervaporation separation factor for p-xylene to o-...

Effect of Dehydration Temperature on the H2 Separation Potential of Hydroxy Sodalite Zeolite Membranes

The main goal of this work was to synthesize and evaluate the effect of dehydration temperature on the potential application of hydroxy sodalite zeolite membrane. Hydroxy sodalite zeolite membranes were synthesized via direct hydrothermal method onto a tubular alumina support without seeding in a hot air oven. The synthesized membranes were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning ...

Removal of BTX Compounds from Wastewaters Using Template Free MFI Zeolitic Membrane

MFI zeolite membranes were prepared on porous α-alumina substrates, using secondary growth of nano-seeded layers. The resulting membranes were characterized by means of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-Ray Diffractometry (XRD), and pervaporation performance tests for separation of Benzene, Toluene and Xylene (BTX) mixture from contaminated water. The morphology, thickness, homogeneity,...

Permeation and Separation Characteristics of Mfi Type Zeolite Membranes on Zirconia Intermediate Layer by Template-free Secondary Growth Method

MFI type zeolite membranes were synthesized on two types of supporting materials, alumina (α-alumina) and yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) coated alumina. Membranes were prepared by template-free secondary growth method with multiple growth steps in order to minimize intercrystalline gaps. Gas permeation characteristics, thermal and hydrothermal stability for MFI type zeolite membranes were exa...
